PRE-SEED AND SEED STARTUP SCORING

We take the guesswork out of the initial evaluation of a startup.

Often startups have everything they need to succeed. However, they may need an independent confirmation (for example, AccelScore)  to make a strategic jump for their companies.

With many startups that had scored through this methodology, the result was evident: there is a correlation between AccelScore and startups' readiness for funding. AccelScore helps startups, investors, startup accelerators, and others to assess the progress of an early-stage startup reliably.

TEN SCORING METRICS

We work with our customers to define ten metrics to measure their startups (more if needed). We help them look at the success factors that will affect these metrics and design AccelScore to measure them. In this way, AccelScore can provide an early indication of a startup's capability to move to the next stage of its startup progression.

With the various metrics, you will be able to make a quick decision about a scored startup.

Discover talented founders that conventional ways may not be able to do.

SCENARIO #1. YOU ARE AN ACCELERATOR.

If you are an accelerator emphasizing the startups' founding team for your cohort program, we can work with you to define these metrics to measure each team. Your goal is to make sure the founding team is sound and ready to be invested. Our goal is to help you measure and quantify that goal.

Some team metrics include communications, cofounders' compatibility, cofounders' skillsets, social responsibilities, team culture, and many more.

SCENARIO #2. YOU ARE AN INVESTOR.

You have met many startups and need a quick way to review them. You have two goals - how a startup handles their current & future finances and how they work, produce & market their services. Our goal is to help you measure and quantify these goals.

The metrics to focus on may include budgeting, financial statements and projections, marketing plan, teamwork, and many more.

You are a hardware or software company. Your want to evaluate a few startups and see if their products or services will enhance your business bottom line. We can augment your evaluation process by adding these metrics for you to measure.

The metrics may include product-market fit, customer validation, manufacturing excellence, product cycle, innovation, and many more.

SCENARIO #4. YOU ARE A STARTUP.

You and your co-founders have developed a prototype or a fully functional product. You have some customers (free and paid), and you want to find out if your startup is ready to scale organically or seek investments. Our goal is to use these metrics to guide you to your dream.

Some metrics that will help you along may include competitive and risk analysis, product-market fit, customer persona, customer engagement and support, sales strategy, risk analysis, pricing, legal, and many more.

SCENARIO #5. YOU ARE A UNIVERSITY.

Your university or college has an entrepreneurship program or an accelerator, or a startup venture lab, and you are guiding your student founders to create their startups. Your students are most likely first time founders. Your goal is to make them successful in creating startups and learning about the early-stage startup process. Our goal is to enhance your program by creating a data-driven mechanism to measure their progress using various student startup metrics.

The metrics that will help the students understand real-world skills, including building a team, finding and validating customers, building products or services, presentations, preparing a pitch deck, writing business & financial plans, and many more.

SCENARIO #6. YOU ARE A HIGH SCHOOL.

Whether you are a high school teacher mentoring an entrepreneur club, a high school student who wants to create a startup, or parents of a high school student who wants to inspire the entrepreneurial spirit in your future startup superstar, we can help. Our goal is to use the AccelScore metrics to guide aspiring young entrepreneurs to discover the pathway to learn to create a new startup.

SCENARIO #7. TO PROMOTE DIVERSITY

AccelScore doesn't filter based on the founders' look, the language they speak, or where they are from. It filters based on their performance.

AccelScore will help find hidden talents from Asia, Africa, Europe, or any place on earth.

BENEFITS

  • The score is a great equalizer. We encourage everyone to look at the score of a startup and the founders, not their pedigree. It is an excellent tool for organizations to implement diversity – you see the score, not the face.

  • We are dedicating many hours to help founders and guiding them through the process. It will help the startup to stand out in a crowd.

  • AccelScore can improve 5x the speed in evaluating startups in the early stage. Instead of having five startup scouts, you may only need one.

  • The platform provides a data-driven process to improve any accelerator or incubator programs. It assists them in incorporating additional deal flow features into their programs.

  • Others can use AccelScore to quickly identity startups who may need further boost and improvements in some areas within the startups.

  • Time savings. It will take about 30 minutes to set up your metrics only once per cohort or every four months. It will take your startups 15 minutes to create a report and 10 minutes for your mentors to generate feedback every two weeks.

FOUNDER'S TRAITS

AccelScore also focuses on the founding team and how they work together. It looks into the following founder's traits: Grit, Humility, and Innovative Thinking.

  • Grit. You have courage, strength, passion, and perseverance. You're relentless, and nothing can stop you. When you have a challenge, you take it head-on. You always find a window when the door closes.

  • Humility. You are open-minded and believe in what you do. You are aware that you don't know everything, and you admit & take responsibility. You are vulnerable to mistakes and flaws, and you're continually learning. You share the limelight when successful.

  • Innovative Thinking. In addition to thinking outside the box, you strive to find a better way to solve a problem. You're not content with the current status quo. When everyone thinks you have the best solution, you want to make it better.
